Is Cadillac Preparing a High-Performance Escalade V?
We live in a pretty incredible time if you are in the market for fast vehicles. That could mean a high-performance wagon, or even a turn-key, road-legal track car, buy perhaps the most impressive in terms of fighting the laws of physics would be the high performance SUV market. But the status quo of that segment is not even as outlandish as the thought of a high-speed, V-branded version of the Cadillac Escalade. Jeep is about to announce a Hellcat version of the Grand Cherokee. BMW is working on a new X5M. Bentley just released that its new Bentayga, which is already boasting sports car performance numbers. Lamborghini will finally bring out the Urus soon, and Porsche will celebrate over ten-years of the Cayenne. You can add to the mix this new rumor reported by MotorTrend suggesting that an Escalade V is under development, and it would certainly shake up the segment. RELATED: See More of the BMW X5M Here
According to the magazine’s own Jonny Lieberman, sources inside Cadillac say that the Escalade V is an imminent threat to all these other performance SUVs. While hard facts are still hard to come by, rumor has it that the Escalade V will use some form of the supercharged 6.2 liter LT4 V8 motor found in both the new Corvette Z06, and the new Cadillac CTS-V.

Power will undoubtedly stay relatively the same with the LT4 motor churning out around 640-650 horsepower, and 650 lb-ft of torque. Add to that the Escalade already comes standard with the Magnetic Ride Control System, and the Escalade V should be a formidable contender in the performance SUV market.
