Next-Gen Nissan GT-R Could Spawn an Infiniti Super Sedan
The Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge is very much a vehicle we’d like to see on the road. If you don’t remember, it was a standard Q50 sedan, fitted with the 560-horsepower heart and soul of a Nissan GT-R. This menacing creation was able to hit 60 mph in somewhere under 4.0 seconds. Sadly, it won’t be available to buyers anytime soon, but if new reports are any indication, the next-gen GT-R could spawn an Infiniti super sedan that would be pretty closely related. “Our research has shown that there is a move in high performance car manufacturing toward four-door sedans,” said a source close to Nissan. While the development of the upcoming Nissan GT-R continues, engineers from Nissan USA and Nissan Europe are working together to transform the GT-R from a hardcore coupe, into a more luxurious, but no less powerful sedan for Infiniti.
The sedan will plan to target vehicles like the Porsche Panamera and Aston Martin Rapide in the high-speed sedan segment. As for powertrain, there’s still no details yet, but we expect to see a twin-turbo V6 under the hood with upwards of 500 horsepower.
Naturally, we have to take these very interesting reports with a grain of salt.
