Watch a 677-HP Volvo C70 Race a Honda CBR1000
Let’s just get the “do-not-try-this-at-home” disclaimer out of the way. This is not something you want to be caught doing by a local cop, but if recorded on camera, is fit for all the world to see. It is a race between a high-performance motorcycle, and the most unlikely of cars. For the longest time, Volvo was regarded as a brand focused on safety, putting a back seat to performance. Through the years, there have been some exceptions. An 850 R here, a Polestar S60 there, and then there’s this creation–a Volvo C70 with 677 horsepower! RELATED: See images of the Volvo C70
the Volvo coupe is pitted against a 2007 Honda CBR1000, or as SpeedSociety calls a “liter bike.” They are big engines for a motorcycle, and the 180 horsepower that it makes is exceptionally potent given its minimal weight. Still, the bike may have met its match when the high-power Volvo goes up against it on the highway:

The orange C70 has sinister R-design wheels out back, and whatever type of wheel they could fit to the fat Hoosier tires up front–remember, this is a front-wheel drive car! As far as we can tell, the car is the creation of Speeding.nu, a performance auto parts company. Well, at least they know how to put their parts to good use!
