Porsche LeMans Prototype Gets a Gorgeous Rendering
Let's face it— the future of LeMans is likely filled with all-electric cars. And imagining how those cars might look, gives rise to some truly beautiful renderings of these vehicles of tomorrow. This example shows off a Porsche prototype racer from the year 2035 and it's a gorgeous look at what may become the norm one day. This futuristic car comes from the mind of Korean designer Gilsung Park, who has created an entire series of images that take today's LeMans prototypes and brings them 20 years into the future. The slick, aerodynamic Porsche definitely does not look like a car you'd see on the road today, but there's just enough of today's design hidden beneath to make this a realistic possibility. Park's rendering would include an interchangeable battery pack. This would allow for quick swaps rather than long refueling that could cost a vehicle the race.
Power would not come from electric motors as you might expect, but rather from four air turbine levitation hub-motors. These motors would be used to turn the wheels and to provide the necessary backwards thrust required to power the car to a win. This is one vision of the future that would be nice to see made real.
