Watch This 2,400HP Corvette Blast Down a Texas Highway
Every year, some of the fastest “street” cars get together in a little old town in Texas, and square off against one another to see who truly has the fastest car. It’s called the Texas 2K, and the cars that show up are definitely not the run of the mill vehicles out for a Sunday cruise. It's all about speed. This year, TX2K organizers saw record after record tumble as people brought insane numbers to the track. Even the mighty Alpha Omega GT-R from AMS Performance was defeated— and that car has AWD and 2,000 horsepower. RELATED: Read All About AMS Performance
Whereas usually the AWD cars dominate the event, the RWD class brought their A-game and absolutely killed it. One car in particular was a twin-turbocharged Corvette that made 2,400 horsepower. Because that’s exactly what you need for the street. Thankfully, for those that are in disbelief that a Corvette with that much horsepower just doesn’t crumble into a ball after lightly touching the gas, there is video of this monster tearing up the streets.
I don’t know about you, but I’d definitely be nervous placing my right foot anywhere near the accelerator pedal of this thoroughbred killing machine. Twice the horsepower of the Bugatti Veyron. More horsepower than a Koenigsegg One:1. With less weight, less downforce, less control, and less quality. Thankfully it has a drag chute, but seriously, does anyone think that’s going to do a lick of good when the car is sideways at 180mph? ____________________________________ Click Here to Read the Original Article on BoldRide
