Go Behind the Scenes with the Supercars of SPECTRE

There’s a new film set to hit screens and it features some secret agent by the name of James Bond, perhaps you’ve heard of it? We jest. SPECTRE, the 24th installment of the 007 series, is set to quite literally roar into theaters in November, 2015… to the tune of raucous exhaust melodies.  In the film, Bond finds himself behind the wheel of the all-new Aston Martin DB10 – a car specially-built for the movie – while evil nemesis Mr. Hinx takes the helm of Jaguar’s clandestine, yet ill-fated C-X75 supercar. The film’s producers recently turned the cameras on themselves, capturing the epic cars in action, and it’s quite the performance. Take a look. RELATED: The 2016 Aston Martin Vulcan is an 800HP track terror We’ll have to wait for the film’s release to see the full cut of the Aston-on-Jaguar action, but one thing is for certain, the city of Rome plays a gorgeous backdrop to the striking super machines. Acclaimed director Sam Mendes would agree, “It’s a cat and mouse game through the nighttime streets of Rome, at great speed, between two of the fastest cars in the world, neither of which you have ever seen before.” The DB10, which sadly Aston Martin won’t build in mass (only 10 cars), features the stunning lines and classic shape so integral to the brand and James Bond’s legacy, but it’s rather overshadowed by the Jag. Remember, the C-X75 was Jaguar’s vie at the hypercar market and perhaps even the most radical of the lot, sporting a plug-in hybrid powertrain and over 850 horsepower from its batteries and 1.6-liters of supercharged and turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Yowza. The C-X75 project was sidelined in 2012 due to the poor economic climate, but thankfully it’ll live forever on the silver screen.
