Guess How Much a Dodge Viper Costs in China
Before the Hellcat duo were making headlines, Dodge’s 640-horsepower Viper was the star of the show. And it still is, to an extent. But while you can pick one up here in the U.S. for $84,885 (if you’re lucky), the markup for one in China is insanity. How about $482,000? That’s how much you’d be paying if you bought a Viper in China, according to CarNewsChina. Since the Viper isn’t technically sold there, it makes it extremely difficult and expensive to pick one up through the gray market. But don't worry, the dealership that imports it says it is completely street legal and can be covered by insurance. PHOTOS: See More of the 640-Horsepower SRT Viper TA
Adding on a 60% export tax on anything with an engine bigger than 4.0-liters, and you’ll be staring down this monstrous $482,000 price tag the next time you walk into a dealership in China.
Quite the markup.
