You Want a Jeep Pickup? So Does Jeep

The Jeep brand is incredibly popular these days with a huge following of loyal enthusiasts that are likely to buy anything with the badge. One thing many of them would like to buy is a pickup. It looks like they may one day get their chance. Jeep hasn't had a pickup in the mix since the Comanche which was in production from 1986-1992. It was introduced back when the company was still a apart of American Motors which changed in 1987 when AMC was purchased by Chrysler. That overlap and Comanche's slow sales led to its eventual demise. But all is not lost. According to The Detroit News, Jeep CEO Mike Manley would like to see a pickup join the lineup. That's right, Jeep wants this as much as everyone else. They've even showed off a few concept models like the J-12 at the 2012 Moab Easter Jeep Safari, but things have not yet gone a step further. Manley says that although it may have a place in their portfolio, it doesn't yet have a time. There are other priorities right now, so pickup fans will have to wait awhile longer.
