1,160HP Koenigsegg Agera RS is a Whole New Level of Performance

Few would look to the Koenigsegg Agera – a 1,018 horsepower supercar – and say “Nope, needs more power.” Even fewer would require more muscle than the Agera S and Agera R, good for 1,030 and 1,140 hp, respectively.  But surely if there's more grunt to be found, someone will ask for it, and Koenigsegg will be more than happy to oblige. Such is the case with the new Agera RS. It ekes out a bit more power than its older siblings. Though it doesn't smash the hallowed One:1 megacar, it will decimate practically anything else around. The Agera RS retains the same twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 powerplant as its predecessors; however tuning tweaks have revealed an extra few ponies left in the stable. It doesn't end there either, because Koenigsegg can even crank that figure much higher for models expecting to run E85 ethanol. At its core, the Agera RS looks to serve up more everyday usability in the form of a faster supercar. Buyers still get a luggage compartment and detachable hardtop, but also net a few advancements gleaned from the heady Agera One:1 megacar, including lightweight sound insulation, revised track-tuned aerodynamics, and an active rear spoiler that generates 1,000 lb. of downforce at 127 miles per hour. Need more? An optional self-leveling suspension package, sound cancellation program, and other aerodynamic setups are available. Koenigsegg will only build 25 examples and 10 have already been accounted for. Pity.
