Glow-in-the-Dark Nissan Leaf Wants To Illuminate Your World

Nissan is on a mission to take over the specialty car paint game, and the first two steps have been equally impressive. Back in April, Nissan announced a dirt-resistant paint that essentially worked like Rain X for your entire car. The other day, at the Chicago Auto Show, Nissan debuted a glow-in-the-dark paint to bring some light to your night. The exterior shell was created in collaboration with Hamish Scott, creator of Starpath, a spray applied to walking paths that absorbs light and illuminates the applied areas when it's dark. The organic spray harnesses UV energy and uses it for a glowing effect when the sun goes down. Other aftermarket companies have showed off similar tech before, but Nissan is the first commercial manufacturer to display the option.
