See if a BMW i8 Can Keep Up With an M4 On The Track
The fancy new BMW i8 and the BMW M4 are two very different cars with very different skill sets. Both of which, though, are pretty impressive. It's a traditional gas engine versus a new electric hybrid in a showdown on the track that only one of these incredible cars can win. On the hybrid side is the BMW i8 tipping the scales with 362 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. On the gas side is the BMW M4 which weighs in with 430 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. The electric car has the advantage in a flat-out drag race when it's all about straight lines, but what happens when you put the two cars on a track full of twists and turns? As Jalopnik points out, the real matchup for the i8 is still waiting in the wings with the promise of the M2. We'll all have to hold on just a bit longer to see how that one will play out, but for now, see how the futuristic i8 fares against the old-school M4 and you be the judge about which is the better car to drive.
