Which is Faster? 560HP Audi S1 or an RC Car?
Everybody loves a good David and Goliath competition – a family sedan vs. a supercar, a hatchback against a street rod, you've seen the lot. But Audi recently took things a bit further. The German automaker hightailed it to northern Sweden, and lined up a 560-horsepower Audi S1 EKS quattro rallycross car against — wait for it — a 13-year-old boy. And surprisingly it's not a blowout. That's because said 13-year-old is actually two-time German Junior RC Champion Micha Widmaier, and he's behind the controller of a scaled-down version of the Audi S1 World Rallycross car. The Audi S1 EKS, piloted by two-time German touring car champion Mattias Ekström, boasts a sizable advantage. The rallycross monster shovels out 560 horsepower from its Audi 2.0-liter engine, put to the ground through a six-speed sequential gearbox and permanent four-wheel drive system. The RC car on the other hand has significantly less horsepower, but a crucial size advantage.
Hope you found either one of these underneath your tree during the holidays.
