How not fast? These Pinz tend to top out just north of 60 mph. Underneath its boxy features lies a 2.5-liter air-cooled four-cylinder engine, good for around 90 horsepower. That grunt can be sent to all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and high/low-range transfer case. And when the going gets really tough, front and rear hydraulic locking differentials make best use of the 710K’s torque band. Inside, it’s just about as rugged as one might expect an ex-Army vehicle to be. The Pinzgauer comes fitted for duty with seating for six in the middle, generous rear cargo room, plenty of brown décor, and a handy pop-up hatch in the roof. Crucially, there’s a CD player, radio, and genuine Swiss Army iPod connection. Okay, we made that part up, but yes there is an iPod plug. According to the seller, Copley Motorcars of Needham, Massachusetts, the Austrian-built 4x4 comes with its original owner's manual and shows a rather paltry 24,000 miles on the odometer. The want is strong with this one; imagine finding this under the tree in late December. Find it listed here.
