Is Ford Putting a Mustang On The World's Tallest Building?
It seems like Ford has a thing for bringing its cars up to the tops of tall buildings. They did it when the Ford Mustang launched by putting one on the top of the Empire State Building and then again last April to celebrate the car's 50th anniversary. Now, rumor has it they're aiming even higher. The Mustang is set to make its Middle Eastern debut at 11 a.m. ET today, and Jalopnik has picked up some hints here and there that that debut will involve the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. Nothing has been confirmed, but there are definite indications that this could be in the works. PHOTOS: 2015 Ford Mustang GT
The first hint is a recent interview with Bill Ford in Dubai. They could have chosen all sorts of interesting locations, but it's by a set of huge panoramic windows looking out over the city, and they've got to be at least 100 floors up judging by the backdrop.
There's also a teaser video for the Mustang's debut that has the Burj Khalifa making a brief appearance. Why put it in there if you don't intend to use it for something? We should know later this morning what kind of grand debut Ford has got hidden up its sleeve.
