We have mirrors and cameras on our cars so that we can see what's around us more easily. But new technology is making it possible to see right through the car like a superhero. Your next ride could be as transparent as Wonder Woman's plane. OK, it won't quite be like her plane because it won't fly and everyone will be able to see it. It's just the driver who will momentarily gain superhero-like powers thanks to a combination of simple technologies that will let them see through metal. It was developed by researchers in Japan using common things like a web cam, mirror, projector and laptop which are then carefully positioned throughout the car. Exterior cameras capture images then return them to the projector, which displays them on a mirror and reflects off a screen. The last piece of the puzzle is retroreflective fabric. This is draped over the interior surface of the car. It is where the final image is displayed giving the illusion of transparency.
