Nissan Kicks Concept Debuts in Brazil
Nissan loves its concept cars, and the Kicks small SUV concept is its latest and most interesting offering. Shown at the São Paulo Auto Show in Brazil, the Kicks Concept likely previews a compact crossover for that market. However, it looks enough like mainstream crossovers sold in the States that I think it could work here. RELATED: See More of the Handsome Nissan Kicks Concept
The Kicks Concept is about six inches longer than the Juke. Its wheelbase is about 3.5 inches longer, too, but height and width are similar. The Kicks was designed as part of a joint effort between the Nissan Design America studio based in San Diego and the Rio De Janeiro-based Nissan Design America Rio, under the eye of Nissan’s Global Design Center, which is based in Japan. Like with the Juke, the name is supposed to evoke agility and youth.
There aren’t any details on powertrain, but I think a turbo four matched to a manual or CVT would make the Kicks Concept a pretty sporty proposition for city dwellers. Consider it a bigger, less odd-looking Juke. That could prove popular given the current crossover craze.
