Porsche 911 or Toyota GT86 Rally Car? You Can Drive Both
You want to rally like a pro? You can, hypothetically. All you need is a bit of practice, some big cojones, and of course, a good car. These two new options might pique your interest. First we have the Tuthill. The iconic rally team is introducing a production Porsche 911 R-GT rally car for wannabe racers and racing teams alike. Following huge interest by fans after two WRC appearances this year, Tuthill is finally letting everyone else get in on the action. “Our Porsche 911 R-GT car has caused a massive stir wherever it goes,” a Tuthill spokesperson told Crash.net. “It is a cost-effective and extremely reliable rally car that both drivers and teams can enjoy rallying for years to come.” RELATED: See Photos of the Stunning Porsche 911 RSR Race Car
Working together with the FIA, Tuthill was able to create this unique platform for the 2015 FIA R-GT Cup, which includes a five-round series run in Europe as part of the World Rally Championship. Tuthill is currently taking orders in Europe and hopes to have the cars ready for January’s Rallye Monte-Carlo.
But maybe real rally racing in a real rally Porsche 911 just isn’t up to your skill level. You might want something a little easier to handle. For that, you can call up the guys at RallyMaster, who will get you behind the wheel of a brand spankin’ new Toyota GT86 rally car.
Unlike the 911, which would require a real racing license, the GT86 experience is open to anybody with a standard driver's license. It’s part of RallyMaster’s public driving experience which that be held at Brands Hatch and Oulton Park circuits in the UK. Consider it an introduction to the world of rally racing.
