Nissan Leaf Pickup Truck Both Demented and Awesome [w/Video]
Few would decide to fuse a Nissan Leaf with a Nissan Frontier to concoct a Nissan Leaf pickup truck. But that’s what two Nissan employees did when they decided they needed a “shop truck” for Nissan’s Stanfield, Arizona, technical center. Roland Schellenberg and Arnold Moulinet are the masterminds behind the pickup dubbed Sparky. Moulinet looked at a bunch of photos of pickup beds but ended up choosing the Frontier’s as the best fit. As best as we can tell, the mechanicals underneath are the same, although the pickup bed loses about 10 inches of width and four inches of height. The back end of the Leaf is replaced by the rear bulkhead from a Titan, complete with a power rear window.
The rear lights also get some tweaks and there are wood strips in the bed, just like in old-school trucks.

While it’s a one-off for internal use, we’d love to see a business case for this one.
