Nissan Pokes Fun at Ferrari with Nyan Cat GT-R
Electronic dance music impresario Deadmau5 recently proved that Ferrari has no sense of humor. The Canadian DJ wrapped his 458 Italia in a Nyan Cat look, earning a cease-and-desist letter from Maranello. The incident got plenty of publicity, and Nissan decided to take a shot at Ferrari with a Nyan Cat supercar of their own. Unfortunately, it’s just a Photoshop job, but it’s a damn good one. Hey @deadmau5, heard what happened to your car. Good news? We found a replacement, ready right meow. #GTR pic.twitter.com/c6NRmOr3Nv — Nissan (@Nissan) September 3, 2014Ferrari’s biggest beef with the Nyan Cat Ferrari was that Deadmau5 replaced the emblems with “Purrari” logos. Naturally, Nissan put the word “Spec” and Deadmau5’s logo under its own GT-R emblems. It’s too bad that this is just a Photoshop creation, as we’d love it if Nissan actually did make a Nyan Cat one-off wrap for the GT-R, no matter how silly it looks. For now, we’re just glad that Nissan has a smaller “stick in the mud” quotient than Ferrari. PHOTOS: See More of the 2015 Nissan GT-R
