Jaguar F-Type vs Subaru WRX STI Drag Race: Does AWD Trump Power? [w/Video]
Here's a match between two fast, powerful cars with significant differences. One is the Jaguar F-Type V6S, which has 380 bhp with rear-wheel drive and an automatic transmission. The other, is a Subaru WRX STI has only 300 bhp and a manual transmission, but it compensates for the lower horsepower with all-wheel drive. Will how will those differences affect their times? The Jaguar, on the other hand, has to overcome its rear-wheel drive, but as an automatic, launch control is a breeze. This video shows the net results of the different features of each car.

The WRX starts strong and manages to hit 30 MPH in a speedy 1.5 seconds. That time leaves the Jaguar, with its 2.3 second speed, struggling to play catch up. By the quarter mile, the tables have turned with the Jaguar flying by in 13.7 seconds and the WRX playing catch-up at 14 seconds.
Two unlikely cars, in a very unlikely drag race, making for one pretty interesting comparison.
