Confederate X132 Hellcat Speedster: Art on Two Wheels
There are continuously new products that come out, some of which pass by unnoticed and others that grab your fleeting attention. This, however— this stops you right in your tracks with a roundhouse kick to the face. Built by Confederate Motors, it’s called the X132 Hellcat Speedster and it’s equal parts art exhibition and performance motorcycle, which considering its performance, really says a lot. The all-new Hellcat Speedster is powered by a 2,163cc fuel-injected V-twin engine that churns up 121-horsepower and a substantial 140 lb-ft of torque, funneled to the rear wheels through a five-speed drag racing gearbox.
Riders sit comfortably thanks to an easy-going seating position, tractor-style leather saddle, and adjustable suspension, complete with a 48mm front fork and center-mounted Race Tech coil-overs. Stopping power comes courtesy of dual Beringer 4-piston calipers up front with a single 4-piston out back. Grippy Metzeler ME880 rubber mounted on BlackStone Tek carbon fiber wheels help complete the package. All totaled, the Hellcat Speedster weighs in at 500 pounds.

Like all of Confederate’s past bikes, the performance equation is incomplete without a striking design, and this cycle has Pierre Terblanche – past Ducati Design Director – to thank for its sculptural look. Confederate says it’ll only build 65 bikes – all handmade in the US – at a cost of $65,000. Expensive? Quite. Do you still want one? That’s a resounding ‘Yes.’
