Join John Hennessey for a Ride in a 636HP Camaro Z/28 [Video]
John Hennessey knows a thing or two about taking fast cars and making them even more mental. Look no further than his latest creation – the HPE600 Camaro Z/28. In production trim, the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is an absolute glue-stick on the track, built to grip better and longer than its muscle car contemporaries. Heck, it knocked-out a 7:37 lap time around the Nurburgring, which is just a smidgen faster than a Porsche 911 Carrera S. But when it came to straight-line speed – especially once the car’s aero hunkered it down – Hennessey thought it could do with a boost. And a boost is certainly what he gave it. Hennessey equipped his customer’s 2014 Camaro Z/28 with his HPE600 performance upgrade, which cranks power from 505 horsepower up to 636 horsepower at around 7,000 rpm. Upgrades include ported cylinder heads, a custom camshaft, stainless steel headers, and tweaked engine management, not to mention the best upgrade of all – that ferocious engine bark.
Not enough power for your liking? No worries, John’s got you covered with more performance packages for the 2014 Camaro, including a high-flying HPE1000 twin-turbo upgrade, which produces – you guessed it – 1000 horsepower. Hellcat who?
