Embrace the Dark Side with this Full-Size Darth Vader Car [Video]
Sith or Jedi, which is cooler? Hopefully you’ve been aligned with the Sith crowd, because Mattel just rolled out the Empire’s hottest ride yet for Comic-Con 2014. To celebrate the return of the Star Wars series in 2015, Hot Wheels partnered with the brand to release a new toy line in the run-up to the film, and it’s kicking it off with none other than a full-size, roadworthy Darth Vader car, which we’ll call the Darthmobile.
Upon first glance you’ll undoubtedly notice its Vader resemblance, shaped by the dark side of the force, sort of. The Darthmobile was designed by Mattel and built by Hollywood’s Picture Car Warehouse – the folks responsible for many of the badass rides found in Sons of Anarchy, The Town, and 2 Fast 2 Furious.
The front-end evokes Vader’s characteristic fascia, conveniently fitted with a trio of headlights and a clever split windshield. The car completes the look through the implementation of carbon fiber body panels, sinister LED brake lights, and oversized MHT alloy wheels.

But you won’t find any sublight drive engines under here, rather, a tweaked Chevrolet 6.2-liter LS3 V8 pumping out 526 intergalactic horsepower (Bantha-power?) to the rear wheels.
The Darthmobile goes on display tonight at San Diego Comic Con 2014, but since you can’t own the real thing – you can buy your own 1:64 toy versions for $40. May the Force be with you.
