Aftermarket SRT Viper Convertible Shows Off Its Seamless Beauty

Dodge hasn’t announced that it’s building a new Viper convertible (yet). With that being said, a company called Prefix thought they should take matters into their owns hands, with a $35,000 convertible conversion kit for your pre-existing SRT Viper. It’s officially marketed as the Prefix Medusa, and it’s an aftermarket ragtop fitment for current generation SRT Vipers. It’s a beautiful and seamless conversion that automatically folds up and down, and fits right into the tiny boot of the Viper. PHOTOS: See More of the 2014 SRT Viper GTS

Thankfully, they haven’t fiddled with the engine. The 8.4-liter V10 still produces 640 horsepower, and power still goes to the rear-wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. Even better, Prefix says the conversion doesn't add too much extra weight (although they won’t say just how much it does add). The Medusa will run in limited quantities, and as mentioned, it’s going to cost current Viper owners $35,000 for the conversion. Or you can wait around another three years for a factory convertible Dodge Viper. But who wants to wait that long? PHOTOS: See More of the 2014 SRT Viper TA
