McLaren 650S Gets Done Up In Spectacular GT3 Fashion
We all knew McLaren was planning something special for Goodwood — but this is on another stratosphere of special. It’s the new 650S GT3, and like the 12C in which it replaces, it’s an utterly spectacular looking race car with 500 horsepower and a drool-inducing body kit that will leave you staring for days. But the 650S is more than just an exercise in what could be, it’s a real life race car, and it’s headed to the track very soon. With new aerodynamics throughout, the whole body of the car gets a 52 mm wider. Not to mention sleek new fitments like the wind-channeling side mirrors and a sleeker front end. Other features include a monster of a rear wing, lighter, carbon fiber body panels, and new Pirelli P Zero racing tires, all with somewhere near 500 horsepower on tap.
Of course, all this could be yours if the price is right…and if you own a 650S. McLaren hasn’t said just how much the 650S to GT3 conversion will cost just yet, but, we can assume it’s more money than we have in the bank right now. For those of you that don't own a 650S already, you can cop a 650S GT3 brand new for £330,000 (approx. $562,000). Chump change, amiright?
Heck, even current 12C GT3 owners can even convert their 12C to McLaren's new and improved GT3 spec. Because aerodynamics.
