Ferrari 458 Could Get a Twin-Turbo V8 Next Year
There are a lot of rumors surrounding the future of Ferrari, more specifically the way the automaker builds its engines. While the new California T has already been announced with — you guessed it — a turbocharged engine, the 458 could be the next to get the same treatment. Car Magazine says that along with a facelift, the 458 will get a turbocharged engine starting in 2015. It will actually be the same 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 found on the California T, albeit with a bit more oomph. PHOTOS: See More of the 2013 Ferrari 458 Speciale
Along with a new engine would undoubtedly come an increase in power. Car says that the 458 could get as much as 670 horses from its new engine, an increase of 100 ponies from the current model’s 570 horsepower. And like the California, the 458 would likely bear a “T” moniker.
What we do know for sure is that turbo or otherwise, a new 458 is coming— and soon. So get ready.
