VW Vision Concept Is The 500 HP GTI Roadster We Need
When it comes to the Volkswagen GTI, there’s not much else in the realm of the perfect hot hatchback. So how could VW’s design team take this already near perfect piece of engineering, and make it the object of our every desire? Chop its top off, pretty much. The Volkswagen GTI Roadster Vision Concept is the very car we’ve been waiting for. With Mini unveiling a roadster concept all its own this past week, it’s a breath of fresh air to see V-Dub doing the same. PHOTOS: See More of the 2014 Volkswagen GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo
Unlike the Mini Superleggera though, the GTI Vision is a study in the insane. The top of the GTI has been topped off and replaced with an extended glass windshield. That to go along with the new, sharper cues found along the body. And lets not forget that massive wing.
Under the hood is a V6 churning out 500 horsepower, propelling the concept to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. While the concept will never see the production line, it will come to life in the new Gran Turismo game.
