It’s been about a year since Hennessey Performance fused the tail of a Ford Expedition onto the back of a Ford F-150 SVT Raptor to create its VelociRaptor SUV. Following the enhancements made to the 2014 Ford Raptor pickup, the six-passenger Hennessey VelociRaptor SUV also gets a slightly different look, which means we get to ogle at some new photos and video for the performance SUV mash up.
From what we can tell, the only styling changes for the Hennessey VelociRaptor SUV are the addition of the Raptor’s projection beam headlights and the bead-lock wheels, but it is what’s under the hood that will likely be the draw for anyone looking for a performance SUV. PHOTOS: See More of the 2013 Hennessey VelicoRaptor SUV In its base form, the VelociRaptor still has the same output as the stock Raptor pumps out 411 hp from the 6.2-liter V-8, but Hennessey also offers a tuning option that cranks up the power output to an even 600 hp on the VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged, which can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 5.9 seconds. If nothing else, this added power help offset the additional 600 pounds of curb weight, but more importantly, it ups the awesome factor of this SUV that much more. As Hennessey Performance puts it, “AMG G-Wagon and Range Rover owners beware.”

Other optional features for the Hennessey VelociRaptor SUV include upgraded Brembo front brakes, bespoke interior and cabin technology as well as security and armor in case you plan on driving to Mexico. Hennessey only plans on building about 30 VelociRaptor SUVs each year, so there’s no doubt they will be an ultra-rare sight on the road. Even rarer perhaps will be seeing a Hennessey VelociRaptor SUV off-road. Not only because of the price, which you can find out by calling Hennessey, but also because John Hennessey himself says that these trucks are not meant to be serious off-roaders.
