Renault’s minivan Scenic, based on the Megane, has been on the market since September 1996. In 2004 it was renewed and is now about to get a major facelift scheduled for launch at this fall’s Paris Motor Show.

The Scenic, initially one of the leading models in its class, has meanwhile to fight against mighty competition – like Citroen Picasso, Ford C-Max, Opel Zafira and VW-Touran.

The facelift includes new headlights, more pronounced emblem at front and rear end and a larger air intake similar to the Renault Clio 3. At the rear end it gets different tailights and an extra chrome bar above the license plate .

Furthermore it will get new engines such as a 2.0 litre 16 valve fuel engine with 140 HP and a 2.0 litre dCi diesel engine with 150 HP.

The photos are showing a prototype still wearing some tape across the major changes at front and rear end and one computer image showing how the restyling is expected to look like upon its releas
