Lincoln MKX Concept Teased In Video, Could Debut In Beijing [Video]
On the same day that Lincoln announced its plans to have five new models on sale in China by 2016, it also released a teaser video showing the Lincoln MKX Concept. Putting two and two together, we can only assume that this means the new concept vehicle will be making its big debut this weekend at the Beijing Motor Show as a thinly veiled version of the next-gen Lincoln MKX crossover. As we’ve seen from recent Lincoln products like the MKZ sedan and MKC compact crossover, the MKX will be easy to distinguish from its Ford counterpart, the Ford Edge. The all-new Edge is presaged by the Edge Concept that was revealed earlier this year at the Detroit Auto Show. From the few glimpses we get of the MKX, the styling of the two midsize crossovers is unmistakably different. RELATED: See more images of the 2015 Lincoln MKC
In the video, we can see a recognizable Lincoln face, with the split-wing grille and LED-trimmed headlights. The Lincoln MKX Concept shows a completely different side window opening and more sculpted edges along the side of the body, and it also gets the Lincoln-requisite bounty of chrome trim. There is still no word as to when a production version of this Lincoln MKX will be hitting the market, but Lincoln seems to have some aggressive plans for the future.

As far as its Chinese growth is considered, Lincoln will launch in that market this fall with the MKZ sedan followed by the MKC compact crossover. The MKX will eventually follow these two models, but it isn’t clear which additional products Lincoln plans to launch in China.
