Nissan Schools the Competition With Sports Sedan Design

Here and now in 2014, we're not really given many options for a desirable, well-designed sports sedan. M3 maybe, Lexus IS —but Nissan is looking to change all that. Front and center at this year's Detroit Auto Show is the all-new, all-sexy Nissan Sports Sedan Concept. This tangerine colored sedan is Nissan's latest example of sporty engineering. Following in the wake of the IDx concept we saw in Japan, the Sports Sedan gives off many new design cues. The front headlights are angular, along with the grille, and the wheel and tire combo show some deadly curves. It's all pulled together under a four-door coupe style layout. What powers this sporty sedan though has yet to be determined. We assume it's likely to be a hybridized version of Nissan's four-cylinder engine, replacing the Maxima's venerable VQ-V6. Nissan has stayed mum on any specs so far. Whether the Sports Sedan will go into production or not has yet to be determined. But for now, check it out on display at the Detroit Auto Show.
