Toyota FT-1 Concept is a New Supra in Disguise

One of the most talked about cars at this year's Detroit Auto Show in undoubtedly going to be the Toyota FT-1 concept — or what us enthusiasts like to think of as the next iteration of the Supra. It has the lines, it has the wing, it has all that you would expect from a sporty Toyota. But will it actually be built? As of right now...no. The FT-1 (aka Future Toyota 1) is a mere concept of design created by Toyota's California design studio and "inspired" by new CEO Akio Toyoda and his love for racing. While the FT-1 does preview a new halo sports car for the Japanese brand, it doesn't have any sort of power figures (yet) to give us an idea of what would move this beast.

Like the FT 86 concept before it, the FT-1 could be one of many in a long line auto show concepts, leading up to something ready for production. With Toyota at the helm, and BMW helping out, this hybridized supercar could find its way into the Toyota lineup in no time soon. We just hope it drives as good as it looks.
