Top Gear Hosts' Licenses Confiscated by French Police
British motoring show Top Gear is one of the most popular television programs in the world. In fact, it’s the most popular non-fiction show in the UK. The hosts seem to get away with all sorts of hijinks, but they could not escape the clutches of the French highway patrol. According to Jalopnik, Hosts Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond were filming their annual DVD in France in some serious hardware. Clarkson was at the helm of an Aston Martin Vanquish, while Hammond was piloting a Porsche 911 GT3. The duo was apparently on a stretch of highway doing 1403km/h (89 mph), in an area where the speed limit was 130 km/h (80 mph). That’s when the French cops were all over them. French police stopped the shoot, and instantly confiscated the duo’s wallets and licenses. They have since been banned from driving in France for three months.

Knowing Clarkson, when the DVD is available, you’ll probably find him saying something to the effect of “Who the hell wants to drive in France, anyways?”
