Chevy Camaro Z/28 Laps Nurburging Faster Than Lexus LFA [w/video]
When Chevrolet re-introduced the Camaro Z/28 earlier this year — with 500 horsepower from a 7.0-liter V8 — it was abundantly clear that this Camaro was here to perform. And so far, it's delivered. Clocking an impressive 7:37.40 at Germany's Nurburgring race track, the Z/28 beat the likes of the Lexus LFA (7:38) and Porsche 911 Carrera S (7:37.9). That time makes it one of the most "track-capable" Camaros on the planet.
With a week of practice to account for, Chevy spent nearly 10 hours and 1,000 miles on the track in preparation for the achievement. This 24-hour test, Chevy says, simulates a full year of track use in the Camaro at the hands of an owner. We hope that's the case, and that these Z/28s don't just sit in their respective garages all year.
