BMW M3i/320 Concept: The "i" Line gets a Supercar Makeover

Only a few days back, we saw how BMW thrust the new i3 electric car into our frontal lobe with full-force. In all honesty, we sort of like it. It's weird and quirky and green (in the whole electric engine sense). But naturally, we love us some high-performance cars. So, the i3 just doesn't do it for us, and while the i8 looks spectacular in every sense of the word, it won't be here for a while. So why not something a bit more in-between? A sense of i3 practicality, mixed with a little i8 personality all based on the classic performance of the BMW "M" line.

This then, is the BMW M3i/320 concept by designer Alex Imnadze. A vision of a more practical, high-performance BMW. Now, don't be fooled by its very i-esque appearance, the M3i is ready to compete with the likes of the Nissan GT-R and Aston Martin One-77. A high-performance, high-octane supercar. Much of the design takes cues from the current "i" lineup, including a revised kidney front grille, sleek headlights and futuristic body lines, all sitting pretty on the body of a GT car.

Naturally, the M3i/320 isn't for sale (yet?), but it does give us a better look at just how much influence the "i" moniker could have in the future BMW lineup. And we like it. PHOTOS: See more of the 2015 BMW M3i/320 Concept
