BMW 4 Series Spied Testing in Germany
For the next generation of the BMW 3 Series, the German automaker has decided to spin off the coupe variant as the newly dubbed 4 Series. It was unclear what this was going to mean for the two-door Bimmer, but from what we can glean form these new photos the 4 Series is going to grow up a bit.
Spotted in an unspecified location in Germany, the 4 Series was out with camouflage The car looks longer than its predecessor, as well as wider- as evidenced by the stretched twin-kidney grille. Below that is the agressive lower front valence, which smacks of an M variant, but may just be an appearance package.
Finally, as one can see from the breaks in the roof (lead image) and the lack of a B-pillar, this vehicle features a power retractable hardtop. There are still a lot of questions, in terms of packaging, but one can expect a turbocharged inline four, and inline 6 and BMW's DCT transmission. Oh yeah, there will be plenty of funky names, like BMW 4 Series sDrive35i or something...
