Custom 1930 Ford Model A Pickup Headed to Mecum Auction

The Mecum Auction house is one of our favorite friendly auctioneers. Let alone does it draw some of the biggest crowds in the U.S., but they also come prepped with loads of classics and instant classics ready to go under the hammer. This time is no exception- at their 26th annual Origianl Spring Classic auction this stunning red 1930 Ford Model A Pickup will cross the block looking for a new home. But it's not just any Model A, it comes loaded with all the modern technology you would expect in one chopped and stretched hot rod.

Under the hood sits a monstrous LS1 engine courtesy of a 2004 Pontiac. This V8 should produce somewhere in the neighborhood of 350-hp all the while paired to a six-speed manual transmission. Underneath the chassis sits an independent suspension and the interior boasts power steering, brakes, windows and of course, A/C. Mecum hopes the A will bring in somewhere in the market of $60-$75K when it takes to the stage come May 14th-19th. PHOTOS: See more of the 1930 Ford Model A Pickup
