Video: 'The Big One' Strikes Again at Talladega
People don't want NASCAR races because the vehicles on the track have ANY connection to the ones that they can buy in the dealership. No, people watch NASCAR for "The Big One." The tight racing, high speeds and sheer number of cars on the track means there is a high propensity (translation for NASCAR fans: it means "high chance") of a massive, multiple-car crash. That is exactly what happened this Sunday at Talladega:
The final laps of the Aaron's 499 were pretty exciting, care of this massive pileup. All the big names were involved, but it was David Ragan in the #34 car that ended up winning the race. Once again, I don't think many NASCAR fans cared much about the winner, as long as they were able to see one epic wreck.
