Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Returns in a Blaze of Glory

This is the all-new, utterly gorgeous, American-born Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. The way every muscle car should be built from now on. Ever. With all the teasing of the new Camaro SS as of late by GM, it actually comes as quite a shock that Chevy would bust out some old guns in the form of an updated Z/28. If you couldn't already tell- yeah, it's gorgeous. With Chevy finally evening up the performance lineup with a single design language; the rear-end takes cues from the new Corvette Stingray, with the front grille mimicking the all-new SS sedan. Overall though, the body remains distinctive of that wedge-like Camaro shape.

Lift up the hood, and that's where all the magic happens. A 7.0L LS7 V8 powers the beast up to 500-hp. Which makes this "the fastest road-racing Camaro possible that was still street-legal." So, faster than the SS? Yup. About as fast as the supercharged ZL1? Probably. One of the fastest factory street-legal Camaros ever made? You bet your sweet ass. Chevy hasn't said when all this Camaro goodness will go on sale yet, but when it does, expect it to run in limited numbers and cost a good deal more than the $60K ZL1.
