This or That: Dodge Charger SRT8 or Chevrolet SS
Not but ten years ago, the American performance marketplace was a wasteland, devoid of a true rear-drive sedan. Then, the folks at Chrysler and GM got off their fat asses and brought us the rear-drive V8 muscle sedan. Which was awesome. The Dodge Charger SRT8 and the Pontiac G8 GXP were new segments in the states that the German sports sedans didn't know what to make of. But, with Pontiac and the G8 officially out, replaced by the highly touted Chevrolet SS (essentially the same car), and the Dodge Charger SRT8, more precise and refined than ever, it's a tough choice, no? On one end, the Dodge Charger- with its 6.4-liter mill making 470-horsepower, is quite the catch, but the not-so-brand-new Chevrolet SS with 415-hp from a 5.2-liter V8 is no Plain Jane either. So, what will it be? Chevy or Dodge? SS or SRT8? Right Twix or Left Twix? Urgh, we don't know either. Tell us what you think in the comments below.
