Freddie Mercury's Rolls-Royce Up for Auction

Freddie Mercury, aka god-with-a-mustache, was one of the greatest rock and roll legends known to man (if you didn't already know that). The Queen lead singer had a relatively short yet successful run in the music industry before his untimely death in 1991. Thankfully, in that time, Freddie had enough juice in him to kick out some classic rock and roll hits, and even scored himself a 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, courtesy of managing company Goose Productions Ltd. At the time, this Rolls cost only £11,000 ($17,000), by the way. Since then, the car has been kept in pristine condition until its last use in a snug role in the 2002 production of Queens' musical "We Will Rock You." Now, the classic Rolls is up on the block in the UK's COYS auction come January 13th. Officials expect the ride to bring in a mere £9,000-£11,000 ($14,000-$17,000). So much for the celebrity bump. Source: COYS
