It draws hundreds of thousands of visitors and an assortment of brand new vehicles each and every year. Last year, we saw a healthy heaping of reveals from Chevy, Shelby, Acura, Hyundai, among others. Playing off GM's successful (?) Volt platform, Cadillac is aiming for a sportier, more luxurious vehicle of their own. The ELR- revealed in concept form in 2009 and then later in 2011- was a sleek coupe with aggressive lines that Cadillac has kept mostly under wraps since. Following Chrysler, who found success with a brand new Viper in 2012, Chevy hopes that with a bit of TLC to the exterior, a new engine, and some balls, the Corvette will keep its longstanding title and remain at the forefront of the pack. Where would be we bit without some 'Merican trucks in Detroit? Thankfully, GM is packing some heat. Revealed late last year, the GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado are two trucks that hope to deliver. The single platform pickups maintain the use of both a V6 and a more powerful V8 while introducing more efficiency and luxury than ever before. Last but certainly not least, Shelby American- coming off a rough year with the loss of famed Carroll Shelby himself- is looking to pick up where it left off and come on strong.
