Five Sexy Wagons From the 2012 Paris Motor Show

Here in the states, as a whole, our love for the wagon was tossed in the 1990's like week old pizza, courtesy of a certain wood-paneled Griswold-mobile. With aesthetics and quality lacking, automakers began to roll out more efficient and better looking SUV's and crossovers to replace the now niche vehicle in the market. But lately, automakers are making the wagon sexy again. Complete with zero -I repeat, zero- wood-paneling, sharp sexy lines and even massive V8's, it's hard not to fall back in love with these unsung heroes. So with the Paris press days wrapping up, we wanted to take a look at five of the sexiest wagons that made their way into the city of lights, and hopefully into our driveways in the near future. Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo

Starting off with our favorite; this Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo hybrid wagon is so many hot things in one. Although we could argue that this is how the Panamera should have been designed from the beginning, that's not the point. What really matters is that this concept previews a new design language in the Porsche lineup throughout, and we likey. Mazda 6 Wagon

When revealing the new Mazda 6 sedan, engineers took little time in re-inventing their Takeri concept into now production form -which was a good thing. Delivering Mazda's all new "Kodo" design language, the concept turned sedan turned wagon, presents an aggressive front fascia coinciding with a host of edgy lines running all the way down to handsome and spacious rear end. Renault Clio Estate

The much loved Clio has received a makeover all around for debut in Paris, including a new base, high-performance and of course, wagon. Officially dubbed the Renault Clio Estate, this sexy Frenchman receives a refreshed front fascia along with a host of new angles and a boot that goes on for days. Ford Mondeo Wagon

"Oh look, it's an Aston Martin wagon." Wrong, fictitious character, it's actually the all new Ford Fusion/Mondeo sporting the latest design cues from the Detroit automaker. This muscular design, Ford hopes, will cement the automaker amongst a more worldly market in order to increase both sales and reputation. With a wagon like this, we think it should work. Mercedes CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake

As Mercedes' Shooting Brake comes complete with a monstrous 5.5L AMG V8 good for 550-hp, this German power wagon makes all others seem incompetent and dreary. And with all that power sent to the rear wheels, tires will be turned into smoke, take notes from Chris Harris. (PHOTOS: See all Wagon Cars here)
