Track Assassin: Alpha-N BMW M3

We like German tuners, because like German beer brewers, they're required by law not to suck. Which is why we're glad Alpha-N has blessed our other favorite German export; the BMW M3. Their latest creation is an attempt to build their own version of the coveted M3 GTS. It hosts a handful of styling tweaks, bespoke carbon fiber parts, and packs enough tuning to turn the already competent M3 into a capable track assassin.

Though "Race on Sunday,Sell on Monday" has always been the driving force behind BMW and their M models, the Alpha-N M3 attempts to return the M3 to its roots...the track. This shouldn't be too hard, as Alpha-N's shops are located just minutes from the legendary Nürburgring and we'd bet that most customer cars get a thorough shake down on the Green Hell. The uncompromising attitude of this Alpha-N M3 "goes to 11" by adding  OZ Superforgiata rims wrapped in 265/35R19 Michelin Pilot Cup Sports. Subtle aero tweaks help to improve airflow over the car, increase high-speed stability, and provide extra cooling to the brakes.

The front splitter is a major player in the improved aerodynamics. It also happens to be a handsome bit of craftsmanship.  The air inlets are 100% functional, helping to channel air to the Alpha-N M3's upgraded front brakes. This front splitter would look really nice on a white e90 sedan lowered on a set of aggressive wheels.  It has just the right balance of subtlety and aggression.

Outback, the four fat pipes of the Akrapovic exhaust system poke out from underneath the bumper. They're accented by a rear diffuser, also courtesy of Alpha-N's carbon fiber squad.  We're not fans of the big rear wing, even though it looks to be almost M3 GTS spec, so we don't doubt its functionality. Our guess is it probably helps to keep those sticky Michelin Pilot Cup Sports firmly planted through the faster bits at the ring.

Cold air ain't cheap.
Under the hood is even more carbon fiber goodness. A fair amount of the OEM plastic and rubber pieces have been removed and replaced with custom made carbon fiber parts. Everything from the intake to the intake manifold has been replaced with Alpha-N's specialty air box system. Combined with the higher redline, exhaust system and the carbon fiber intake system, there's no doubt that this M3 sounds as sick as it looks.

The interior is all business as well with carbon fiber and alcantara replacing the standard BMW trim.  This model has the optional DCT transmission, meaning that precious milliseconds won't be lost to driver hesitation, or poor driver coordination. The OEM M3 seats have been replaced with RECARO Pro Racer HANS seats; a very clear sign of the hopeful owner's intentions. Altogether, this Alpha-N BMW M3 constitutes one of the meanest (especially in this murdered out version) and cleanest M3 tunes we've ever seen. See more of the Alpha-N BMW M3 here
