Toyota Camatte Concept is Fun For the Whole Family

In recent years, Toyota has had the unfortunate reputation in the auto market of selling cars aimed at your grandparents. Thankfully, they are looking to change all that. Starting off with this. It's the Toyota Camatte concept and it was unveiled not at the Tokyo Motor Show, but at the Tokyo TOY Show, which sounds like one of the coolest places in the world.

Why the toy show? The Camatte Concept is designed to be driven by children. With its one-plus-two seating layout, the seats, steering wheel and pedal can all be adjusted so that your child can be placed in the driver seat. Don't worry, mommy and daddy will be able to help out with the steering and braking from the passenger seat.

The 2.7-meter long concept also comes with adjustable body panels that allow for the concept to look completely different depending on how you design it. You can make it look like the little green roadster pictured above, or a quirky Jeep-wanna-be.

Though this fun little concept is pretty sweet, don't expect to find it on the showroom floor of your Toyota dealership anytime soon. Toyota says that it was "designed firmly as a concept."  If they have enough interest, maybe they will change their minds in time for the 2012 holiday shopping season.  What kid wouldn't want a real car under his tree?
