Unveiled: Ugur Sahin Design Alfa Romeo 12C GTS Concept
Ugur Sahin Design out of the Netherlands wanted to bring back some of Alfa Romeo's historic looks with a bit of a modern twist in their new concept design; the Alfa Romeo 12C GTS. Currently the Alfa sits as a computer generated concept, but with enough funding USD says they can make it into a tangible concept car. Although this may seem difficult, USD has managed to pull it off in the past. Thanks to some cash flow and dedication, their Corvette based Anadi sports car created for Monaco last year still runs in limited numbers. USD hopes to do the same for the 12C.
Although the concept is stunning, USD has kept their new Alfa project pretty tight lipped. Not much other than the design aspect has been released.
The 12C look bears a close resemblance to Alfa Romeo's 8C, albeit stretched out a bit. On the front end the first thing you will notice is that classic "V" shaped grille. This concept takes the classic design aspects of the former Alfa's and infuses it with modern technologies and looks. From the side the 12C has sharp, flowing lines that USD says makes the car look like it's in constant movement even when standing still. The heavily spoked rims also add to the constant movement effect.
This is where things get a bit cloudy. With no details on how the 12C will be powered we can assume that it will be similar to the 4.7L V8 currently found in the 8C. Like the Anadi which was modeled over a standard Corvette C6, it came with the same 6.2L tuned to about 650-hp. So with this we can expect somewhere in the neighborhood of 500+ hp to come on tap for the 12C.
