Your Ride: 2005 Ford Mustang GT Convertible

It’s safe to say Jordan Carty is in love. In love with his Ford Mustang GT, that is. “I love the way I feel in my car and the looks I get when I drive it,” Carty told BoldRide. When recalling his first time out of the lot with his Mustang, he remembers the wind in his face and the roar of the engine. “I just felt like I had died and gone to car heaven,” Carty reminisces. BoldRide: How did you acquire the ride? Carty: I used to have a 1994 Camaro. It had some leaky T-tops and a baby V6 and some hefty engine problems. It was pretty apparent I needed a new ride. After selling my Camaro, I went to look for a something with a little bit of speed. I first came across a sweet Mazda RX-8 and then it just happened. It was like the world had gone dark and there was a single beam of light glistening on a black on black Mustang GT convertible. I was instantly enthralled. Jessica Simpson could have walked by in a bikini and Daisy Duke boots and I would have asked her to get out of the way. It was as if I could just hear the engine growling my name. I wanted nothing more than to drive that baby home. What do you feel like when you drive your Mustang? I get an “I’m the black beast of the road so get out of my way” kind of feeling. I just feel bigger, meaner and faster. All I need is a supermodel to jump in the front seat and my dreams will be complete. I’m still waiting on that one…surprising, I know! What have you done to make it a bolder ride? The whole front is completely new, excluding the turn signals. It has a Trufiber GT-S III Hood, Roush Front Bumper, Halo Fog Lights, Chrome Halo Headlights, Trufiber T1 Vented Fenders, and new Black Bullitt Motorsport Wheels. I look forward to expanding this list – there’s more I want to add to my ride.

What's an inside fact about the Mustang that only an owner would know? The cigarette lighter is poorly placed. I use the lighter to charge my phone so the cord is always in the way of the radio. Also, the dashboard gauges are pretty cool; there are numerous ambient colors that change at the touch of a button. What's your favorite memory of your car? There are several, all that range between the times when I’ve smoked my friends Volkswagen Golf GTI and getting all the head turns and compliments. Picking up supermodels has to be the best…. haha just kidding! But really, I think watching some kids go bananas at the gas station was awesome. It brought me back to when I was young and had an ungodly number of Hot Wheels. Their excitement made me realize I officially have my own Hot Wheels car. What would you change about it? At this point I still have to customize the back. I will change the exhaust and possibly put on a Roush rear fascia. I would also like to add sequential taillights. What dream accessory you'd love to get and why? This is a no-brainer…a retractable hardtop conversion. It would be awesome!
