Video Flashback: Rendezvous by Claude Lelouch

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NJzrv4MaMo&feature=youtu.be This is one of our favorite driving sequences ever (well, maybe not ever) but still...this short film, called Rendezvous, made by Claude Lelouch in 1976 is in our top 10. The Plot is simple Actually, there was not really a plot but it went something like this: Drive through the city streets of Paris at hell breaking speed in order to reach some lady at the other side (all while church bells ring). This involved a whole lot of squealing tires, the running of red lights, curb hopping, driving down one way streets in the wrong direction, as well as several pedestrians and birds who are like "um, oh shit." The entire film was shot in one take with a 35mm camera strapped to the front bumper. It appeared that the car was a Ferrari 275 GTB due to the engine sound, but it was later revealed that a 1975 Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9L V8 was used. So the sound editing kinda makes it a fake, but who cares - it's still cool. Lelouch was the actual driver and the rumor was that he was arrested after shooting the fim due to the stunt which makes it even better. Below is the "making of" that was released years later with more: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHn5Q15kaIA&feature=youtu.be The route included drive-bys of the Arc de-Triomphe, Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Elysees: What's your favorite driving sequence?
