This might be even better than Top Gear.
If you enjoy watching Chris Harris on Cars on YouTube, there's great news because the series is coming to BBC America in the United States. The new show premieres July 11 at 9:00 PM Eastern.
The trailer above and BBC America's description suggests at least some segments might just replay Harris' clips from YouTube. Even if that's the case, it's not necessarily a bad thing because they should look fantastic on a larger screen. The channel promises reviews of exotic vehicles like the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, McLaren 650S, and Aston Martin GT12.
For those not familiar with Harris' videos, they are some of the best automotive clips on the Web. Harris does the usual sports car reviews, but he combines them with a love of doing big, smoky slides in some of the most expensive vehicles in the world. He's also incredibly knowledgeable and charismatic.
Top Gear has hit an international rough patch over the last few months. Low ratings and bad reviews plagued the latest season in the United Kingdom, and it culminated with main host Chris Evans leaving the show. Meanwhile, the History Channel cancelled the American version. Harris being on BBC America is at least a little good news for people in the U.S. who are craving automotive excitement on television. We also expect him to be back on Top Gear when the show eventually returns.
