The company is on its way to a great year.

Ferruccio Lamborghini would be happy to know his supercar company continues to grow decades after the brand's founding. Through the first six months of 2016, the business delivered 2,013 vehicles to clients, which was the first time it beat 2,000 units in half a year. The strong numbers had a big boost in June when the firm moved a record 416 supercars worldwide.

Through June 2016, Lamborghini delivered 1,370 examples of the Huracán and 643 Aventadors, including the 5,000th one. The orders already on the books for the rest of the year indicate the supercar maker could surpass 2015's record volume of 3,245 vehicles. In the first six months, the company's sales are already up seven percent from last year's 1,882 units in the same amount of time.

So far in 2016, Lamborghini introduced new models like the Huracán Spyder and Centenario. Plus, it showed off special editions like the Huracán Avio and Aventador Miura Homage. With some big auto shows to come later in the year, we could still see even more from the company.

Lamborghini experienced rapid growth in just the past few years. The company achieved a sales record of 2,530 cars in 2014, and last year was the first time it delivered more than 3,000 vehicles. The business expects this trajectory to continue. In 2018, the Urus arrives with a biturbo V8, and the automaker estimates the performance SUV could push annual numbers as high as 6,000 units.
